TANCET Seats Reservations Details

Selection shall be made under seven categories namely OC, BC, BCM (BC Muslim), MBC & DNC, SC, SCA and ST reservations following the rules of reservation of the Government of Tamil Nadu as follows.



* As per Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No. 134 dt: 29.05.2009 and G.O. (Ms) No. 50 Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (TD2) Department dt: 29.04.2009. Tamil Nadu native candidates alone will be considered for communal reservations. Candidates seeking admission against SC/SCA/MBC & DNC / BC/BCM (BC Muslim) quota should obtain the certificate of social status issued by the competent authority in the prescribed Permanent Community Card in Tamil Nadu and enclose an attested photocopy of the same along with the application.

a) The applicants from Tamil Nadu State should have a valid permanent community certificate in card format issued by the competent authority (for ST/SC/MBC & DNC and BC in the format prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu in G.O. Ms.No.781 (Revenue Department) dated: 02.05.1988. This is applicable for BCM (BC Muslim) also. In the case of ST candidates, the community certificate should have been issued by the Revenue Divisional Officer / P.A. (General) to the Collector of Chennai / Sub-Collector of the District concerned (except Chennai) vide Govt. Lr.No. 32061/ADWII/89-2, dt: 27.12.1989 and Lr.No.21424/ADWII/94-4, dt: 15.11.1994 from the Secretary to Government, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Chennai – 600 009. The Permanent Community Certificate Card issued to ST candidates by Tahsildars upto 11.11.1989 only is valid.
b) Community Certificate obtained from Other States will not be considered for communal reservation.
c) For communities linked with districts (Refer Annexure – II the information and instructions to candidates) the candidates should obtain their community certificate in their respective district. Community certificates obtained from other than their respective district will not be considered. However, the candidates who belong to BC, MBC and DNC communities in a particular district and migrated to other places in Tamil Nadu and obtained Community Certificates from the competent authorities in the migrated district on or after 28.10.2009, will be considered. (as per G.O. (St) No.95 BC, MBC & Minorities Welfare Department, dated 28.10.2009).
d) Candidates who have not enclosed an attested photocopy of the Permanent Community Card certificate will be treated under Open Category (OC).
